The odometer says 48,000.
The car says 131,000.
Mileage blockers and rollback tools now cost a few hundred dollars and leave no trace on a history report. Before you spend $50,000, $100,000 or more on a used car, we fly to it, plug in, inspect it forensically — and tell you if the miles are real.
Illustrative example of the kind of mismatch our diagnostic cross-check is designed to catch.
Odometer fraud didn't die with digital dashboards. It got cheaper.
Rolling back a modern car used to need expensive equipment. Today, plug-in tools and hidden "mileage blocker" modules sell online for a fraction of that — and the cars they're used on most are exactly the ones worth tampering with: trucks, SUVs and luxury vehicles that hold their value.
Vehicles on US roads suspected of a rolled-back odometer — up 14% in a single year.
Vehicles sold every year with false odometer readings, according to NHTSA.
Lost by American car buyers to odometer fraud every year (NHTSA).
Average value lost per rolled-back vehicle — before repairs. On a luxury car, the gap can be far larger.

Three ways we find the miles they tried to hide
Deep module cross-check
A modern car stores mileage in more places than the dashboard. We read the control modules that log distance or event mileage and look for disagreements, resets, gaps and the electronic fingerprints that a blocker or rollback tool can leave behind.
Trim & cluster forensics
To fit a blocker or reprogram a cluster, someone usually has to get behind the dash. We inspect trim edges, clips, fasteners and wiring for pry marks, disturbed fixings, non-factory connectors and tell-tale tape or splices.
Does the car look its miles?
Steering wheel, pedals, seat bolsters, switchgear, key fob, brakes, tires, stone chips, service labels. Wear doesn't lie — and when a "35,000-mile" car is worn like a 110,000-mile car, we document it.
Every visit also includes a basic pre-purchase inspection (road test, fault-code scan, visual mechanical check, paint/body review) and a full CARFAX vehicle history report.
A clocked car isn't a bargain. It's a liability you financed.
- You overpay on day one — mileage is one of the biggest drivers of a used car's price.
- You borrow against a value that doesn't exist, and start in negative equity.
- Major services get skipped because the schedule follows the fake number.
- When the discrepancy surfaces, resale value can collapse — and you're the one holding it.
- Warranty and certified pre-owned cover may be refused if tampering is found.

Built for buyers with a lot on the line
Remote buyers
Buying a car you can't see in person, from a dealer or private seller several states away.
Luxury & exotic
Porsche, Mercedes-AMG, BMW M, Range Rover, Lexus, Bentley — where every 10,000 miles moves the price by thousands.
Trucks & SUVs
High-mileage trucks and SUVs hold strong resale demand — which is exactly why they're targeted.
The motor trade
Dealers, lenders and auction buyers who want stock checked before it's sold on. See trade services.
34 years in the motor trade. We know where they hide it.
Your inspection isn't carried out by a generalist with a checklist. Our founder has spent more than three decades buying, selling and financing cars and running a large dealership sales department — and has hands-on technical experience with instrument clusters and the aftermarket devices fitted behind them.
That means knowing which trim panels get removed, which clips break, where devices are tucked away on specific models, and what a car that's genuinely covered 30,000 miles actually looks like.
About usWe show you, not just tell you
Every finding is photographed close-up and annotated in your report: pry marks and broken clips at fitting points, disturbed fasteners, spliced or taped wiring, and wear that contradicts the odometer. Evidence you can take to the seller — or to an attorney.

Mileage blockers stop a car from recording distance. Here's what they are, why they're spreading, and why a clean history report won't reveal one.
